Byron Bay Skin Cancer Clinic is a private billing practice. Our fees are based on assessment of costs and expenses incurred in providing the highest level of care whilst still ensuring that skin cancer treatment is accessible to our patients.
The standard consultation fee is $95.00. This is payable on the day of consultation. The Medicare rebate for a standard consultation is $37.05. Longer consultations, such as those involving multiple or serious diagnoses and longer time, are $130. The Medicare rebate for a long, complex consultation is $71.70. Hence, the out of pocket cost is approximately $50.

We have the facility to submit your claim to Medicare electronically on your behalf. The rebate can be directly deposited into your bank account within 24 hours, if you have previously registered your bank account details with Medicare.
Procedures and surgery may incur a fee. This will be discussed with you at the time of booking a procedure.
All fees must be paid on the day of consultation. We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Visa and MasterCard. We do not accept cheques.
Appointment times are specifically reserved for our patients. If a person is unable to keep their appointment, they are asked to please notify us 24 hours in advance, in which case no charge will be made.
A fee may apply for missed appointments.
Appointments cannot be re-scheduled until outstanding invoices for missed appointments are paid. Patients who fail to show for their appointments twice cannot re-schedule an appointment. They are asked to follow-up with their family doctor.
